Sky View Tents donates a percentage of all profits to Dark Sky International, an organization funded by members whose primary mission is to restore nighttime environments and to protect and wildlife communities from the harmful effects of light pollution through outreach, advocacy, and conservation. It’s a cause very close to home for Sky View Tents. At over a mile high, we want to keep our night time skies as clear of light pollution as possible. For more information please visit darksky.org and consider becoming a member or advocate!
Sky View Tents also donates a minimum of 2% of all profits to Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi (CIWY), a Bolivian non-governmental organization dedicated to wildlife conservation, specializing in the rescue, rehabilitation, and care of animals that have fallen victim to illegal trafficking and other forms of harm.
More on Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi (CIWY)
I discovered CIWY 8 years ago while backpacking across South America. The month I spent volunteering at Ambue Ari with two very special pumas (Tupac and Leo!) was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. In my own words, CIWY rescues Amazonian animals that are abandoned pets, or that have been saved from other unfortunate situations, such as mismanaged zoos. When these animals cannot be reintegrated into the wild, CIWY ensures they receive the best possible care and quality of life given their circumstances.
CIWY is funded by past and present volunteers. Volunteers help build massive enclosures for these animals deep in the jungle, spend quality time with animals that enjoy human interaction, and enrich their lives by creating new features and hiding snacks within enclosures to enrich their daily experiences. Food, medicine, land, and building materials all come at a cost, and we’re doing our part to help.

I’d recommend volunteering at CIWY to anyone.
Sincerely,
Joe Bissonnette, Inventor and Founder of Sky View Tents.
